Mark O’Brien

Mark brings to Camerons a suite of speciality services from 30 years in the industry, including taxation and business development through the management of human resources, technological solutions and performance based benchmarking.

Throughout his career Mark has travelled extensively and worked in Hong Kong, China and Europe, including London, in public practice, the automotive industry and the tourism industry.

Mark's overseas experience proved a valuable insight into the operations of different business segments, the financial recording systems and exposure to different taxation regimes. It also reinforced the notion that becoming a Chartered Accountant would be an invaluable qualification to gain as it is recognised throughout the world as a symbol of excellence.

As a result Mark returned to Tasmania in 1991, joined Millar Seymour & Co (later to become Camerons), and completed the Institute of Chartered Accountant professional year program.

As Camerons has grown so has the diversity of Mark’s clients, covering industry segments such as rural, health, manufacturing, information technology, tourism, marketing and consulting.

Mark maintains a network of like-minded overseas professionals and in this personal time enjoys improving his Thai language skills, skiing, spending time with his family, property development, overseas business interests and the preservation of maritime history.
